Breakthrough for homosexual asylum seekers
A recent Supreme Court means gay and lesbian asylum seekers will no longer be expected to return and hide their sexuality. Two homosexual men from Cameroon and Iraq whose asylum claims were previously rejected have now been granted asylum in the UK.

Asylum seekers will lose if Refugee and Migrant Justice closes

Join the Release Carnival – help end child detention!
Child detention has not ended yet. Join the Release Carnival in London on 5th June with musicians, circus acts, dancers as well as ex-detainees to call for an immediate end to the detention of asylum seeking children.

Get up to speed with asylum statistics for 2009
The UKBA has released asylum statistics for 2009. The report reveals a general decline in the number of asylum applications in the UK but an increase in the number of applications that were refused.

Many refugees come to the UK out of chance, not by choice
A new report report published by the Refugee Council shows that the assumption that refugees come to UK seeking benefits is a dangerous myth. In reality they may have little choice over where they seek asylum.
