Asylum Dialogues – the brand new play from Actors for Human Rights
Launched during Refugee Week with performances in Bristol, Derby, Liverpool and London, Asylum Dialogues is a newly scripted production by Sonja Linden, performed by Actors for Human Rights (previously Actors for Refugees) in conjunction with Refugee Action.

United Nations in Trafalgar Square
It was notable timing: the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) conference – held on 18th June took place two days before World Refugee Day and within Refugee Week. Celia, campaigns intern at STAR, was there to witness an open debate held as part of the conference, hosted by the Canadian High Commission, with support from the Department for International Development (DfID) and the discussion chaired by Channel Four News’s Jon Snow.

New Judgment Rules Denial of Healthcare Unlawful

People power puts citizenship on the mayoral agenda

An asylum system that “falls seriously below the standards of a humane and civilised society”.
An independent and impartial review of the UK’s asylum system has concluded that two years on from the then Home Secretary John Reid’s infamous speech, the UK’s asylum system is still ‘not fit for purpose’.

Access to healthcare for refused asylum seekers
The Government is currently considering charging refused asylum seekers and undocumented migrants for NHS primary health care, effectively denying thousands of vulnerable migrants access to healthcare entirely. And a campaign is developing to oppose these changes.
