Are you committed to improving the lives of refugees in the UK? Join STAR National as Campaigns Assistant Intern and help coordinate national STAR campaigns. Application Deadline 1st December.
STAR (Student Action for Refugees) is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to support the work of the national office in London.
Join our small and friendly team to help improve the lives of refugees in the UK. The national office works on a range of projects giving volunteers plenty of opportunity to try new things and make use of their particular skills.
Campaigns Assistant Internship
STAR works to improve the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We are committed to ensuring that people fleeing persecution are welcomed and treated with dignity.
STAR is campaigning for:
- Equal Access to higher education
- Still Human Still Here: to end destitution in the asylum system
- Right to Work for asylum seekers
- Ending detention of asylum seeking children
You will help coordinate national STAR campaigns, including organising a national action week in late February for the Still Human Still Here campaign. We are looking for a passionate individual who can take initiative, communicate effectively and motivate students.
Closing date for applications: 12pm Wednesday 1st December 2010
Interviews will be held on 8th December at our office in Bethnal Green.
You should be able to commit 3 days per week for at least 3 months, starting on 10th January 2011.
