Destitution On Film
Refugee Action has released a new film about destitution, you can watch it here.
The short film features clients of Refugee Action who talk about the impact the policy of enforced destitution has had on their lives. The justification behind this clearly inhumane policy of denying refused asylum seekers the right to work is that they will be forced to go home. But as the people in Refugee Actions film show, returning home is simply not an option.
Below are some other short films on the subject of destitution, notably from Amnesty’s ‘Still Human, Still Here’ campaign which STAR joined in 2007.
