STAR goes global at the World Scout Jamboree

40,000 people from nearly every country in the world… One campsite… 10 days… A unique opportunity to raise awareness of asylum issues…

Journey to Safety in action

This summer, STAR will be delivering our acclaimed Journey to Safety activity at the 2007 World Scout Jamboree in Chelmsford. We will be running 16 sessions in the Global Development Village, providing hundreds of people with the opportunity to simulate the experience of freeing their country to find refuge.

Working in partnership with UNHCR, STAR will also be running an awareness raising stall on a double decker bus!

The Jamboree will take place from Friday 27th July to Tuesday 7 August. Ten highly motivated volunteers have been recruited to join Sarah at the site and deliver the activities. Be sure to check back to the website later in the summer to find out how they got on.
