So what is a trustee?

Charity trustees are volunteers who are legally responsible for the overall management and decision-making in a charity. STAR is overseen by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for making sure the organisation is well run and is meeting it’s aims and legal responsibilities.

Why does STAR have student trustees?

We’re a student membership organisation and so it is important that students participate in decision making throughout the organisation. As part of this the Board of Trustees has a number of places reserved for students.

So get involved – becoming a Student Trustee is your chance to make sure that the student members have a say in how STAR is run. You’ll make a huge difference to STAR and you’ll also learn loads about how charities work which will look great on your CV! To apply to be a Student Trustee you need to be active in your local STAR group and be committed to improving the lives of refugees in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity so get downloading your application now!
