How Can Young People Support Refugees?
STAR stall providing information on refugee issues
Make a Difference – Support refugees and spread the word
Many STAR network members volunteer or get involved in projects supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
Examples include drama projects, poetry writing, doing lessons about asylum in primary schools, writing letters to newspapers protesting about the treatment of asylum seekers and many more.
Start small, you can make a real difference by just talking to family, friends and classmates about refugees
Get Local – Start a Group
This is a brilliant way to support refugees! If you get a STAR group going at your school or youth club, you get all the benefits of people power! If you want a STAR volunteer to help you get started, drop us a line to let us know.
Contact us if you’d like to think up a way to volunteer in your area or want to find existing projects to join.
